Publishing an independent book has never been as accessible as in 2026. With platforms like Amazon KDP, Clube de Autores, and UICLAP, any author can turn their manuscript into a physical or digital book without a traditional publisher.

1. Finalize your manuscript

Before thinking about publishing, make sure your text is finished. This means having gone through at least one round of professional editing. An editor will catch mistakes you, as the author, can no longer see.

2. Invest in a professional cover

The cover is the reader's first contact with your work. Studies show readers decide in less than 3 seconds whether to click on a book based on its cover. Invest in a designer who specialises in book covers.

3. Layout and formatting
